About Julie
I am a Level 3 qualified Instructor obtaining my YMCA Education and Training Tutor and Level 3 GP Referral Diploma. My journey began when I obtained my YMCA Exercise to Music qualification many years ago. My passion just continued to evolve and I continued to enhance my skills. I went on to qualify in the following: YMCA Step, YMCA Aqua, Kettlebells, Pump FX, Groove FX, Indoor cycling and Pilates. I went on to achieve the Advanced Back Care Certificate in Pilates and in 2020. I completed my training in Pilates and Orthopaedic Conditions together with Foam Rollers and Pilates. In addition I have completed a Flex Instructor course in 2023.
I also completed a fitness Pilates Health Coach Course which looks at gut and hormonal health, inflammation of the body, mid-section weight gain and the impact of stress and sleep on the body. More recently I took part in a workshop regarding Foot Function and Fascial Lines with Fitpro.
With many years experience I was approached to further my development and went on to train in the following:
- Level 3 Exercise and the Older Adult Chair based exercise
- Otago balance and strength programme.
- Behaviour Change Training for Health – Level 2
As part of this role I was awarded the public vote at an Award Ceremony in 2016.
In 2017 I was nominated for recognition in my role as fitness instructor at One Leisure, St Neots.
I have taught a variety of different classes with Huntingdonshire District Council, One Leisure St Neots for over 15 years. I have also worked for Snap Fitness and Buckden Waterside Marina. I have spent many years working with the Sports and Active Lifestyle Team teaching balance and strength exercises for the older adult and teach my own personal classes in the community. In October 2020, I joined Parks Therapy in St Neots, teaching Pilates.
I also hold my First Aid certificate obtained via LGSS and am registered on the Register of Exercise Professionals now known as CIMPSA.
